At "Making Moves", we understand the importance of providing comprehensive training and support to HipHop dancers who are looking to take their skills to the next level. Our training program is specifically designed for upcoming and emerging dancers, offering a unique opportunity to develop their talent and prepare them for future success in the dance industry. Our training is designed to develop technical skills, foster creativity, and nurture a strong foundation in HipHop dance. Led by experienced tutors and industry professionals, our training sessions offer a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
Throughout the training, our aim is for dancers to not only refine their performances for stage and filming but also to be well-prepared to move to the next level, such as competitions or advanced training.

Training Cost:
Supported by Christchurch City Council: We are grateful for the support and funding provided by the Christchurch City Council, which allows us to offer the training program at no cost to the students.
Studio and Tutor Contributions: Swarm Studios and project lead Lila Chen will cover the expenses related to venue hire and guest tutors.
Respect and Etiquette: We kindly ask all students to show respect to all tutors and fellow dancers throughout the training program. Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment is essential for everyone's growth and development.
Training Requirements:
Commitment: We expect all participants to be fully committed to the training program. Regular attendance is crucial for progress and the success of the project.
Notification: If a student is unable to attend a training session, it is important to inform the tutor in advance. Unexcused absences may impact the student's involvement in upcoming performances or filming.
Health and Safety: The well-being of our students is of utmost importance to us. If a student is sick or injured, we request that they inform the tutor before training.
Training Outcome:
Performance Opportunities: We aim to offer all hardworking dancers the chance to participate in various performances and filming projects. Our goal is to showcase the skills and talent developed during the training programme.
External Selection Process: It's important to note that some performances and filming projects may be organised by external artists or organisations. In such cases, the event organisers may conduct auditions or interviews to select the dancers they require for their specific event.
Fair Selection Process: While we strive to offer participation to all deserving dancers, the final selection for external performances and filming projects is beyond our control. We encourage all participants to continue working hard and seize every opportunity that comes their way.
Growth and Development: Regardless of the selection process, the training programme itself provides valuable growth and development for all participants. It equips dancers with the skills, confidence, and experience necessary to pursue their dance aspirations.
We believe that every dancer's journey is unique, and we are committed to supporting their growth and success in the dance industry.
